MEET THE TEAM

At Shrewsbury Up and Comers all our volunteers do a fantastic job to provide over 657 children and Adults the opportunity to play football. Each and every one of our 189 volunteers make a valuable contribution to the club. However, we would like to introduce you to some of our committee and typically the things they do, often behind the scenes to make it all happen.

CLUB CHAIRPERSON - TOM REYNOLDS

  • Provide leadership and direction for the club, whilst overseeing the work of the Club Committee.
  • Chair meetings of the club, whilst being an advocate of the football club for the local community.
  • Work with relevant committee members to ensure the club adheres to required policies and procedures.

CLUB PRESIDENT - CHRIS HEDLEY

  • Support Club Chairman and committee in the development and delivery of club strategy as required.
  • This is an honorary role, based on service and contribution to the club.

VICE CHAIRPERSON - KERRY THOMAS

  • Assist the club secretary and chairman in the day-to-day running of the club.
  • Supporting all other committee members with their roles, including stepping in for Chairperson if absent.

CLUB SECRETARY - NICOLA POWELL

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the club including many adminstrative tasks.
  • Acts as main liaison between managers/club and both the FA and leagues.
  • First line of contact for all managers and coaches.
  • Complete Charter Standard Annual Health Check.

CLUB TREASURER - NATALIE CRAIG

  • Manage all club finances.
  • Review team finances in accordance with club rules.
  • Can make recommendations on expenditure.
  • Create annual income and expenditure sheets, an annual overall balance sheet and ensure all payments and fines are paid on time and recorded.

CLUB WELFARE OFFICER - SU WIGLEY

  • Oversee all safeguarding related matters.
  • Manage and report concerns regarding children, and ensure clarity around the club’s responsibilities when running activities for children and young people.
  • Works with League and County FA Welfare Officer/s.
  • Promotes the FA’s Respect Programme and helping to develop best practice in all of our volunteers.

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS OFFICER - KAREN LEE

  • Update Club Officials, Team Officials and Teams.
  • Register all players in accordance with league requirements.


CLUB DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - SIMON LEE

  • Support in the development of the club in terms of player pathway from junior football to adult football.
  • Oversee the running of the creche, a key mechanism of player recruitment.
  • Support in the diversification of opportunity to help with talent pathways.
  • Liaise with community groups with an aim to create more opportunities in football for those with disabilities.

GIRLS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - MARV CHOUDHURY

  • Support in the development of girls football within the club including recruitment strategies.
  • Create initiatives to drive increased participation and retention.
  • To support with administration and presentation relating to the TSGFL and SWSL
